Jeffrey Henigan, a certified advanced addictions counselor, has been in regular practice since 1981. A graduate with a B.A. in Psychology from Sacramento State University, he has done a variety of graduate level work with a focus on Abnormal Psychology.

Jeff has held positions—in both adult and adolescent residential programs—in case management, program development, family counseling, and marketing. He also has similar experience in outpatient environments for both age groups. In addition to his direct work with program clients, Jeff has extensive experience in Program Certification and Licensing, Staff Training and Development (especially related to developing staff unity, camaraderie and effectiveness working together in an addiction recovery environment), and Didactic and Process Group Development.

To add to his many years in the field of Addiction Recovery, Jeff brings more than twenty years of experience working in a mental health hospital. Taken together, these two branches of Jeff’s career combine to give him crucial insights into the intersection of mental health and substance use disorders.

Currently, Jeff is the Owner of and Program Director for Veritas Counseling, a State of California certified Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), working with adults and adolescents. He also serves as the Clinical Director for Fountain Recovery, a State of California certified substance use treatment outpatient provider, in Livermore, CA.

Over the course of his career, Jeff has developed or co-developed a variety of programs. These include the Care Unit at Sutter General Hospital (Sacramento, CA), an inpatient addictions program, the outpatient IOP at Sutter Center for Psychiatry, the Adolescent Addiction Treatment Program at Sierra Family Services using the David Gust Model (Placer County, CA), and the adult inpatient addiction treatment program at Charter Hospital (Roseville CA).
